Since the introduction of Part 3 of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) on 1st
October 2004, it has become unlawful for service providers, landlords and others to discriminate
against disabled people in certain circumstances.
In particular, service providers may have to make 'reasonable adjustments' in relation to the physical
features of their premises to overcome physical barriers to access for disabled people.
