The seat is ergonomically designed and comfortably upholstered. The curved, foldable arm rests and the swivel chair ensure ease of mounting/dismounting. The Cumbria Comfort comes along with 6 different upholstery colours that blend perfectly with different décors. The Cumbria Comfort combines reliable tried-and-tested technology with modern design and comfort at a competitive price.
Reliable easy to use technology
Cumbria Comfort is operated by a joystick designed with the assistance of occupational therapists. It is simply pushed in the required direction to move up or down the stairs. For safety reasons the joystick can be removed so that the lift can be isolated from unauthorized users. The lift is recharged automatically at the upper and lower stops to ensure the stair lift is always ready for use. Acoustic signals indicate that the lift has arrived at the top landing and it is safe to get off the stair lift.
Solution for narrow stairs
The Cumbria Comfort's arm and foot rests can be folded away when not in use to keep the stairs free for other users. The stair lift can be “called” and "sent" by remote control so that it can be parked out of the way or used by more than one person. If there is a doorway or corridor located close to the bottom of the stairs, the Cumbria Comfort can still be installed with the option of an automatic hinged rail.
Safety on highest standards
The Cumbria Comfort's numerous safety features include an integrated seat belt, "hold to run controls" and sensors in the foot rest that stop the lift should it meet an obstacle. The Cumbria Comfort complies with all relevant safety standards worldwide including the latest European EN 81-40 standard that supersedes former national British standards.
